Good morning, everyone!
AKA Willawen on LotRO.
Lost my job of 7 years this week. We're fine, but my "PC with a real keyboard" time is diminished. Reading all things, thumb-typing rarely.
Oh no! I hope all turns out for the best :(
So sorry to hear that! Yeah hope things work out soon.
I'm sorry to hear that. Hopefully employment comes to you swiftly.
Hate spiders. Just entered the Beasts forum and threw my computer away when I saw those ugly monsters.
I'm sorry! I put a warning in the PowerPoint during the session when we went over those, but, erm, yeah......
Thanks for the warning during the session, very helpful. You really saved me :) lol
I'm sorry! On a happy note, we're done with Ungoliant now and can get on to less creepy crawly beasts. Like picking a bat form for Thuringwethil :P
Four o'clock and all is well!
Going to work all night, until morning. Better make some more coffee.
I have half a mind to release the "Brian Makes Old Man Noises Show"...
So I'm editing video from the S02E13 script discussion, and listening to Brian talking to nobody during the break...
It's not quite so late for me (starts at 1930 local), but literally only Mon or Tues at exactly that time would work in our schedule. My jaw dropped when I saw when it was to be.
The timing is perfect such that I can switch off the chat at the start of the field trip section and put my kid to bed while watching the field trip.
I felt like that when I started working in car sales and they said, "Ok, so is Friday a good day off for you?"
Haha can you tell I'm sat at my desk today, after a long period of working remotely? Type type type.
Should be working, but instead is plundering Masterpiece Theater shows for actors...
I though you did, just wanted to check to be sure. Yeah it'll take several months until we get to casting session for season three. But that's fine. We will need the time.
Yeah. But I think it's fine we're doing a lot of the work early: once we get into Season 3 proper, we'll certainly be just as active on the Episode Questions. We're really just killing time now, lol.
I tried to alert the execs about the non existent season 3 casting subforum. I don't know if they noticed.
Same. If nothing changes, I'll e-mail Trish and ask her.
Good. I sent a mail to someone the other day. Through 'contact us'
Okay, you can now yell at me for anything I left out of that PP that you would have liked to have seen showcased. I saved orcs for S3.
Yes, awful. :(
Not easy to distill what would, if for real, be 6+ months of planning and work for a full team down to a 2 hour presentation. Nicely done.
What's missing is some stuff from the costumes/creatures/makeup/hair discussions. I will have to make sure we showcase all of that in the Season 3 review.
So had my math major sister calculate how long Exploring LotR will take if we add one week every chapter... roughly 43 years!
I can make it to 85 no problem.
Hopefully the curve will even out eventually ;)
Logging back in this afternoon just drives home how much more ppl care about Feanoreans vs Fingolfin's and Finarfin's broods.
I think you're right but there is also the issue of Curufin.
One issue is that no one is going to immediately think that the kids of Fingolfin and Finarfin are villains - they don't need nearly as much defending as the Fëanoreans ;)
(I was just referring to the fact that Curufin is supposed to look a lot like his dad. That made me post a few more messages than I should have done otherwise)
Spamming the casting threads again...
Does the name of the Edain language 'Taliska' imply that someone speaking it should sound like a drunken Scotsman?
sometimes Silmarillion fan art is beautiful and profound, and then sometimes there's this...
There are also these chibis by Jenny Dolfen:
And Ivanneth's "Seven Little Fëanorians"
Jenny's grumpy little Caranthir is my new favorite thing!
Hey, look - we have posted almost ten thousand messages here...
...and 40% of them are you and me :)
Oh... I didn't realise! Right. Good work!
And Nick is another 12%...
Ok here's a threaded story that you guys might find amusing.
They were having a heated argument. I couldn't hear well, but I could tell that one man was positing that "the new DC movies are the spiritual successor of fairy tales".
I didn't catch all of the rebuttal, but I definitely heard "Tolkien" and "On Fairy Stories".
I really wish we had been sitting closer. :)
