About Thorondor’s size

Neat idea! I like this suggestion, because it allows us to create artistic shots of eagles in flight and also to pay some homage to Tolkien's GIANT giant eagles as described in the text.

The discussion on eagle size is in this thread:
https://forums.signumuniversity.org...t-creative-content-session-for-season-4.3197/
The follow-up (after the session where it was discussed) is in the Session 4-17 thread (the one that has eagles in the title).

I wonder if however big he is made it can be such that when flying at his usual height he casts a shadow with a 30 fathom wingspan. That way it pays homage to the recorded size while still being workable.

I was going to say that in order for that to happen, he would have to be about 62 million miles closer to the sun, then I realized that Arien is much closer than Sol... For now.

Exactly; eagles are just naturally close to the sun, and we're all ignoring physics ;) But why not use the long shadows of sunset to pull off this effect?

The Eagle
BY ALFRED, LORD TENNYSON
He clasps the crag with crooked hands;
Close to the sun in lonely lands,
Ring'd with the azure world, he stands.
The wrinkled sea beneath him crawls;
He watches from his mountain walls,
And like a thunderbolt he falls.
