Dragonguard of Erebor

In the Season 4 frame story, King Dain Ironfoot is fairly paranoid about Dragons. He is, of course, right that there is an impending Dragon attack; it just happens in the main story rather than the frame.

One of the precautions Dain takes is forming the Dragonguard, an elite group of Dwarven warriors who keep watch for Dragons, are trained to fight against Dragons, and have outfits based on Dragons. When they first appear in Episode 4, this is what the script says about the Dragonguard:

"The DRAGONGUARD of Erebor is marching into Dale. They are Dáin’s elite guard. They carry spears and have axes tucked in their belts. Dragon scales shed by Smaug are incorporated in their armor. They wear short capes, full masks, and spiked helms with Dragons carved on the sides. The guard in front has tied to his spear a red flag with a stylized Dragon and some runes sewn on it. DÁIN is dressed similarly to his guards, but he wears a longer cape, and his helm has spikes around it and jewels so it resembles a crown. The Dragonguard is a fearsome sight."

Later on, the Dragonwatch appears. The Dragonwatch is essentially what the Dragonguard is called when they are on lookout duty. In Episode 9, the script says, "They wear cloaks fastened with matching Dragon-shaped brooches to signify they are part of the Dragonwatch."

Does anyone have any suggestions for the costume design of the Dragonguard/Dragonwatch?

When Dain arrives in The Hobbit, there is some description of the arms and armor if the Dwarves of the Iron Hills. I think the Dragonguard could probably keep many, if not all, of these elements.

"Each one of his folk was clad in a hauberk of steel mail that hung to his knees, and his legs were covered with hose of a fine and flexible metal mesh, the secret of whose making was possessed by Dain’s people. The dwarves are exceedingly strong for their height, but most of these were strong even for dwarves. In battle they wielded heavy two-handed mattocks; but each of them had also a short broad sword at his side and a roundshield slung at his back. Their beards were forked and plaited and thrust into their belts. Their caps were of iron and they were shod with iron, and their faces were grim. "

I do not know what has been said about the Dwarves of Erebor before, but i think we could make them different from the Older dwarven armours by adding Even more Norse aestethics to their Armour. Perhaps helms like these would work, with masks and dragons on top?
