Elf Procreation

Now that I have your attention (haha), I’m curious about whether the Elves still continue procreating at the time of the LOTR? I don’t recall ever hearing about elven children running around. Am I wrong about this or does sailing to the West have anything to do with this?

Much of what you want to know is covered in The Silmarillion and Morgoth's Ring, but Tolkien Gateway has a fair discussion of it.

Between the relatively low birth rate among Elves and their tendency to only procreate in times of peace, there probably aren't any around the characters in the narrative.
Also, with their rapid mental maturation, the only thing that would mark them as children in the eyes of mortals would be their physically small size.
