Elves

Would Natalie Dormer be better as an elf or a woman?

Her look is certainly unique; sometimes, I admit that her "saucy smirk" resting face drives me nuts, but I like her as an actress; she's also lovely -- and more importantly, interesting to look at.

She was not in the casting for Season 2, since she's part of the third generation i.e. Sons of Feanor, Turgon, Finrod's generation

The only thing I have against including her is that she's so clearly associated with GoT.

Really? I guess, not having watched much of GoT, I associate her more with The Tudors... but I will defer to you, as I am maybe the worst source of "popular associations" of famous people.

But at least we know (spoilers?) that she knows how to act a death scene.

Found another elf!

Sean Biggerstaff was Oliver Wood in the first Harry Potter film, but I think this 34 year old, 5'9" Scottish actor would make a great elf.

Not sure who I have in mind for him, but perhaps Aegnor, Andreth's star-crossed lover? That's assuming he would look good as blond with grey eyes. If we want to keep his coloring, then maybe Denethor son of Lenwë? A small role - he dies early in Season 3.

He's obviously grown up a bit since this 2001 scene, but here's his voice:

Maybe Daeron? I don't know if he can sing, but I always thought his intonation had a sort of lyrical quality to it (maybe that's just the accent).

So for Season 3, we have to cast...

Maedros
Maglor
*Maglor's Wife -- name?
Celegorm
Caranthir
Curufin
Curufin's Wife -- name?
Celebrimbor
Amrod

Amras
*Amras's Wife -- name?

House of Fingolfin:

House of Finarfin:

Only because we discussed having a younger actress play the Galadriel who beats her cousins at footraces and crosses the Helcaraxe. I'm not committed to the idea, but thought I'd raise it.

Yes, well, I suggest we find a picture of Diane Kruger from 20 years ago or so, the way we are discussing handling young Fëanor.

could we use names from fanfic for maglors and curufins wives? i'd really like to give a friendly nod to that very creative scene...

some names i found are:
naglors wife:vingarie, lothwen,lasbaneth,ilmanis,melindiel,auriel
curufins wife:pelore, apatyelpe,lalibye, telpalma, saninde,narminye,irinseriel

don't know if all are gramatically correct but some nuce sounding names are there...
