Excuse me. Simple question about The Fellowship of the Ring.

My question is in At The Sign of The Prancing Pony Chapter 9 of The Fellowship of the Ring who are "The Dwarves and the two or three strange Men that still remained got up and said good night to the landlord, but not to Frodo and his friends." page 212 of my book? Are they identified by name anywhere in the text? If not are there any fun theories?
