Galdor the Tall (to differentiate him from Galdor of the Havens and Galdor of Gondolin who may have been combined for this adaptation) is the elder son of Hador and brother of Gloredhel and Gundor, husband of Hareth of Brethil and father of Húrin Thalion and Huor. Lord of Dor-Lómin during the Dagor Bragollach, Galdor is more cautious than his son Húrin and more reluctant to go to war in later years, having experienced the death of his brother Gundor in combat.
Like most members of the House of Hador, Galdor will likely have lighter hair and is on the tall end. His role has been a supporting one throughout the last couple seasons but is fairly significant this time around.
Nikolaj Coster-Waldau has been a pretty big name on TV for a number of years and his signature role as Jaime Lannister takes him from arrogant knight to a less arrogant man who is willing to put his life on the line for what he believes in, up to and including charging a dragon. His forays on film tend to be smaller roles but whose actions prove crucial.
