I love the idea that Tharbad is an ancient city that, not unlike Bree, has been claimed by a succession of kingdoms and repurposed sever times over the millennia. I realize that the game developers are telling their own version of the story but could we expect to see evidence of game-Tharbad being Aldarion’s city?
Either the Appendices or Unfinished Tales describes the early Numenoreans (phase 2 being between their initial isolation but before the shift to colonization and exploitation) exploring up river from Vinyalonde and building Tharbad at an existing crossroads, presumably with access to Elves westward and Dwarves eastward and lesser Men all round.
Might we see statues of Aldarion or inscriptions commemorating his sailing days before becoming King of Numenor? Maybe a ruined guild house of the Venturers? Some say he met Galadriel in his new inland city so maybe there’s a plaque or fountain marking the spot.
Numenoreans of this period would have benefited greatly from access to finished goods and crafting services of the Longbeards so perhaps there is a dwarves market or a direct road to the West-gate of Khazad-dum or a highway to Ost-in-Edhil which would still have been standing at the end of the first millennium of the second age.
