Maeglin Lómion is the son of Eól and Andreth of Gondolin; born in Nan Elmoth, he flees his home with his mother to her home of Gondolin and from there, Turgon accepts him into his family, with Maeglin becoming leader of the House of the Mole and proving his worth in finding lodes of valuable metal in the Encircling Mountains and as a warrior in the Nirnaeth Arnoediad. Maeglin nurtures a desire for his first cousin Idril (a big taboo in Elvish culture) and was angrier than most by Idril's choice of Tuor as her husband. In F.A. 503, Maeglin is captured by agents of Morgoth and either tortured or persuaded into revealing Gondolin, with his price being Idril's hand. During the Fall of Gondolin, Maeglin attempted to rape Idril and murder her son Eärendil, but is thrown to his death by Tuor.
The Hosts have indicated that whoever they want for Maeglin should be charming, not creepy, that his evil should not be apparent by looking at him. He should have a muscular build, but on a more compact frame; he should provide a noticeable contrast to Tuor.
Tom Holland would be an atypical choice for Maeglin, but he fits a number of the criteria since most of his roles have been straight-up heroes like Spider-Man or Walter Beckett in Spies in Disguise, but he is certainly capable of playing violent anti-heroes, as shown in his turn as Arvin Russell in The Devil All the Time where he plays two different sides of anti-hero: the aggressive, in-your-face type and the cold, calculating murderer. If you want to see how much muscle he has, watch the scene in Spider-Man: Homecoming where Peter's friend Ned finds out who he is.

An article for why Holland was cast as Arvin in The Devil All the Time; the gist of the article is that Holland is someone who can make the audience care for his character while he goes and commits multiple gruesome crimes.
