New Stream Idea - Play Me a Story

Even after beating a great enemy, all is not well. Sure, spring coming allows Link to reforge his sword, but it also turns a once-safe sheet of ice into a deadly lake filled with dreadful skeleton fish! To make matters even worse, Romani Ranch is under some kind of alien invasion, technical difficulties take down the entire stream, and some puppy dogs aren't quite as fast as they seem to think they are! Problems continue to beset our hero as he waits for his new sword...and then for his new new sword; though he does learn the valuable lesson that betting on a sure thing can actually be quite lucrative.

Link finishes up some errands before heading to the coast and learning that all is not well with the Zora. One is so close to death that he can only sing seven or eight verses of his life's story before succumbing to his wounds, another is telling everyone she can all about how she can't speak anymore, and several others are obsessed with their idols to an incredibly unhealthy degree.

There may not be much Link can do about the last group, but he will press on to solve as many problems as he can in the Great Bay region!

After a little effort collecting the rest of the eggs, Link gets to witness the hatching of the Zora babies who, like most newborns, immediately teach him a song. Link uses this song to open up the way to the Great Bay Temple, and hurries to right the wrongs in the region before he has to reset the 3-day cycle! As Link jumps on the back of a turtle, travels through pipes, and leaps from platform to platform he begins to wonder: when did his game become Super Mario Bros?

Being a hero isn't easy. Sometimes, people don't want to give up prizes they promised, and force you to do even more for the same reward. Sometimes, how you're supposed to achieve your objective is unclear. Sometimes, the world's slowest man insists that you personally lead him where he needs to go, and immediately veers off course if you're more than a couple feet ahead of him. Sometimes, you have to see another Great Fairy.

Nonetheless, Link continues to persevere through all these trials and more, as he continues his quest to acquire the largest collection of masks that he can. Also, to stop the Moon from falling and killing everyone in Termina, but mainly the mask collection.

Once upon a time, there was a boy named Link. One day, Link found his enemies the Stalchildren, but the Stalchildren gave Link helpful advice instead of attacking. Then Link came upon some terrible Sea Snakes, but the Sea Snakes were actually eels, and they graciously died to allow Link to complete his quest. Finally, Link came to a place where he thought his friend the Scarecrow had promised to meet him, but the Scarecrow would not come. That's when Link learned that sometimes, friends are the worst enemies of all.

Failure! Link's life is full of it. He couldn't defeat a Wolfos in time, his streamer's mic suddenly and unexpectedly cut out for a few minutes, and he failed to prevent the Moon from falling. (Though honestly, seeing as how that last one's been true of every cycle since we started the game, Link's probably rather jaded toward it by now.) Nothing for it at this point but to get out his ocarina and play those "world's about to end and all I have to show for it is a new hat" blues.

Like a phoenix rising from the ashes, Link pulls himself out of his previous failure and defeat with renewed vigor! Through grit and determination, Link perseveres and fights until finally, at last, he successfully reunites the separated lovers and witnesses the marriage of Anju and Kafei!

...then promptly resets the cycle so that he doesn't have to sit through the reception. Link then sets out to explore Ikana Canyon, where he encounters ghosts, suicidal ninjas, and gibdos whose only regrets in life were that they didn't have items so trivial that most of us wouldn't even value them highly enough to take them for granted. Join Link to see if he can put these troubled souls to rest as he travels through the region!

All is not well in Ikana Canyon. The king is dead, which appears to have put him in a little bit of a foul mood. Furthermore, a darkness has fallen on his heart, and his elite bodyguards appear to be a comedy troupe. After Link dispatches the monarch and his minions, Link sets off to Stone Tower Temple to cure the ultimate source of the darkness. Carefully climbing and leaping over unfathomable depths, Link can only wonder: just how long have these endless streams of rocks been falling, anyway?

In the final dungeon, Link knows that every step he takes is one step closer to his ultimate goal. Once he beats the temple's boss, there is only one more horror to face before Link is finally free! That's right: if Link can just find and return the last fifteen stray fairies, he will never again have to face a Great Fairy in this game! It won't be easy, but the promise of such a reward fills Link with determination, and he'll turn the whole place upside-down searching if he has to!

As Link nears the end of his quest, he thinks of how similar he is to Skull Kid. Like the imp, Link was bullied and picked on. Both of them have fairy friends who get on their nerves. Why, even Link's habit of breaking people's jars and taking what's inside without asking seems rather similar to Skull Kid's selfish actions. With so many similarities, are the two really so different as we had thought?

Yes, Link realizes that wearing heroic clothes and being the one the camera tends to follow makes him the hero and Skull Kid the villain worthy of fighting. That concern answered satisfactorily, Link continues preparing for the ultimate showdown.

In this bonus episode, Link sets out to show Termina that he's not only the best swordsman they've ever seen, but the best archer, too! He also teaches us that giving verbal commands to a video game character isn't as effective as using a controller (at least, not in this N64 game).

Link simply doesn't know anymore. He's tried his best to fix everything, but apparently he's only made it all worse! He tried giving away gifts and playing hide and seek with some kids, but they all disappeared! He tried playing Hero and Villain, but the "villain" won! Worst of all, Link's not even sure what he did to cause it, but somehow he had to see the Great Fairies again! Everyone else must blame Link, too, or else why wouldn't they invite him to their carnival?
