Rían

Rían (F.A. 450 to F.A. 472) is the daughter of Belegund and cousin of Morwen. Sweet-tempered and gentle, with a love of nature and poetry, she is forced to relocate to Dor-Lómin after the Dagor Bragollach where she meets and falls in love with Huor, the younger brother of Húrin. Huor is killed in the Nirnaeth Arnoediad shortly after their wedding and Rían, pregnant with their child, flees into the wild seeking tidings of her husband. Taking refuge with the Elves of Mithrim, Rían bears her child, a boy named Tuor, and entrusts him to the care of Annael before departing. Journeying as far as the Haudh-en-Nirnaeth upon the Nirnaeth, Rían finally learns the fate of her husband and dies of grief there.

Rían is dark-haired, befitting the House of Bëor, with a bubbly personality to contrast the queenly, stoic, grave Morwen.

Bailee Madison was previously nominated for Eilinel, the wife of Gorlim. She plays the cheery "Girl next door" type in The Good Witch as Catherine Bell's daughter, plus a bunch of Scream Queen type roles. And she recently released a single called Kinda Fun.

It's true that I don't know many actresses who would be young enough to play Rían. We're likely looking for someone in the 18-24 year old age range.

But I did come across Ali Fumiko Whitney, and think she has good naive/innocent energy that she could certainly bring to this role.

She's 28, and she was born in New York. She's half Japanese, but she's been cast to play a WWI-era Scottish girl in The Road Dance, so? She plays the younger sister, interested in romance and boys, attempting to be a confidante to her older sister, but not really knowing how to help her with the dilemma she finds herself in. And she plays a young, betrayed character who takes an interest in an older man's lost love in Find Me Falling (well, based on the trailer, anyway - I haven't watched that one).
