And so, the moment you've all been waiting for...it's time to write some Scripts!
As of March 10th, the Script Outlines have been submitted to the Exec Team (Corey, Trish, and Dave) and we are able to say with some certainty that the Season 2 Outlines are approved (with comments, but still approved). Corey Olsen finished up the review through Episode 13. This means that they are ready for actual script writing!
This is a collaborative, volunteer project. Anyone who would like to try their hand at writing a script for an episode (or even just individual scenes from an episode) is welcome to do so. We would all be grateful and thrilled if someone were to take on the Frame scenes or the Bad Guy scenes across all of the different episodes. The results can be shared in the forum (please post on the thread for that particular episode, so all discussion is kept together). Please note that if you share your writing publicly on this forum, it will be open to constructive criticism. If you've never shared creative writing before, it can be a soul-crushing experience to have someone point out what they think does not work. SO, gentle reminder to everyone to keep criticism professional and focused on helping the author to improve. If someone who has not been following the podcasts would like to participate, I recommend asking some questions first, to make sure you understand the goals for the episode you are trying to write! If you are not familiar with the formatting used to write a script, or aren't sure exactly what type of language we'd like to use for the elves, don't worry - we can work on that together. Should we be ambitious enough to have completed scripts (after review and editing here), I would like to post them on an external site - we'll work with the folks at the Silmarillion Writers Guild fanfiction site to host completed scripts from this project

The purpose of this thread is to collect all of the final Script Outlines for Season 2 together in one place, as well as to link to the conversations that went into forming them - that way, anyone taking on the project can easily look back at what the Execs asked for in that episode, and what ideas the Script Discussion roundtable came up with to help flesh them out. This is a creative project, so some variation and original ideas are welcome...but sticking to the basic outline should help for cohesion. Also, I recognize that many creative aspects of this project apart from script writing would like to be able to refer to the Script Outlines for details, so having a single thread for Season 2 seemed like a good plan.
The easiest way to announce your intention to work on a script for a particular episode is probably to post a link to a Google Doc in that Episode thread, and then update the file with your progress as you go. If people would like a more formal way of calling 'dibs,' I can keep a list here. While I am not opposed to having multiple people working on a single episode simultaneously, it would probably be a better use of resources to divvy up the episodes among different writers.
