Stone of Erech rediscovered!

So it looks like the Stone of Erech has been rediscovered and dug up. :D

It's more worn-down after all this time, but it sure looks like the real thing, doesn't it?
 
Well, I thought it might be made of the same adamantine black stone as Orthanc and the outermost walls of Minas Tirith.

But maybe it was something more special? Tolkien never said why Isildur took such a huge stone all the way from Numenor, and lugged it up inland.

But it could have been symbolic instead of useful. Maybe it came from the tomb of Elros!

I like that idea! Must have been a long hard journey for that boat... must have been bailing out a lot of water.

The theory of the same material as Orthanc and Minas Tirith makes a lot of sense to me, seeing as how it was made by the same people.
