Okay, here is my first request! We are going to have a synopsis of each season, to make it easier for people to navigate through the project. I assume we don't want it to be too 'spoilery', and it's not as detailed as an episode-by-episode breakdown. But some indication of beginning and end, what the theme or overarching story of the season seems to be, that sort of thing. I'm not sure if we should include 'what is the frame story' in this summary or not, and I'm not sure exactly what length to aim for.
So, for Season 1, perhaps something like:
Season 1 of the Silmarillion Film Project tells the story of the Valar. We begin with the Ainulindalë, the song of creation in which the Ainur join their voices and their music in the Timeless Halls under the direction of Ilúvatar. Afterwards, some of them enter into the newly created Arda and begin to shape it to the vision they had seen in the song. Learning to work together is not as easy as they had thought, and Manwë emerges as their leader. Melkor has a different leadership style, focused more on strength than collaboration. This conflict and the characters' choices comes to a head when the sleeping elves are discovered at Cuiviénen.
I didn't mention the Lamps, or the move from Alamaren to Valinor, or the wedding of Tulkas and Nessa, or the rebellion of Ossë, or Aulë creating the dwarves, or the 'death' of Eonwë, or Arien joining Varda, or even name Mairon. So, there's a lot left out. Nor does this reveal that the season ends in the War of the Powers. I wanted to focus on the conflict between Manwë, who is focussed on leading in a collaborative way, allowing each person to flourish and contribute in their own way, versus Melkor, who is very much about uniform loyalty to his own will and vision.
Still, I am certainly willing to edit this summary for better clarity, or to include what we think is essential to describing the season. For instance, I feel like there should be *something* about light, whether it is the Lamps, the Two Trees, or Varda's stars.
