Tom Bombadil

This is an interesting one. I start off with nominating Anthony Hopkins for this role. Hopkins is an excellent actor that has a great range. His body fits with the character and Hopkins is excellent at using his face and voice to strenghten the needed emotion in each scene. He was fabulous in Westworld.

I think he'd be a very nice Tom Bombadil. Maybe a bit old for too much jumping, but that's what we have stunt doubles and other crew for. And as we had Christopher Lee working until he passed away at 93 years old, Hopkins can have a lot of good years ahead of him! Hopkins has a lot of stuff coming out now. Let's add this project to his list!

I think we need someone here who is reasonably young, since we will have him in each and every season. Hivju will be able to be with us for the whole project. And really, I can't think of any actor today who looks more like Tom Bombadil than Kristofer Hivju. He has power and a sense of humor. He can be a bit weird. It will be wonderful!

How's this for outside the box: Stephen Colbert!!

He looks great with a beard, has the requisite joie de vivre, and is totally comfortable dancing and singing and being rather ridiculous yet utterly sincere at the same time.

And who more deserving of so iconic a role than an actor who has not just adored Tolkien, but been a lifelong student of his work. Especially the Silmarillion!
