YouTube Uploads for S7

This the final piece from Season 7 of Silm Film shows the final stand of the Men of Dor-lomin and Huor and Hurin who we have gotten to know so well this season. The action is directly from the final scene of the S7 E13 script and continues after the departure of Turgon.

It begins with the grim determination of the men with a repeat of the House of Hador theme and the last heartfelt conversation between Hurin and Huor. An evil horn sounds and the hordes of Morgoth charge to assault the men, featuring Morgoth’s triad. The men rally a cry and begin a grim song as they dig deep into their resolve and make their final stand. It is called Northern Spirit and drawn inspiration from “Do You hear the People Sing” from Les Miserables and “Men of Harlech” which was the tune of my school song. The music calms with a final rendition of the Heart of Hador as Huor meet his end as if it signals the death of the heart of the House of Hador. This leads into the final piece which has at its heart the concept of Estel – Hope. The melody rocks back and forth between two notes and you can imagine the scene in slow motion with muted audio and just Hurin, as he begins to shout AURË ENTULUVA!!! The melody echoes the timing of these words. They fought for days and the final montage shows the resolution of the other story lines all with the same musical motif. For these other characters, day shall come again, although there will be much suffering. The Estel being pointed to is still far off.

The epilogue music mimics a heartbeat. Hurin in alive, but where? As the camera pulls out, horns play the Doom theme as a teaser fot the next season, and the final crescendo discord also sounds Morgoth’s triad indicating to the audience that Morgoth has won more than the battle of Unnumbered Tears. Next season begins the story of Turin, Hurin’s son and doom follows him everywhere he goes.

The music for this video was done for Ozmoot 2026 in Canberra. Ilana prepared some of the scripts from the story of Hurin and Morwen to cover their courtship. I hope to get them all set up with artwork and posted before the first music session for season 8. This is the first in the series where Hurin is given the news that he needs to ensure the survival of the Lordship and find a wife. The rest will follow the story up to Huor and Rian's weeding. Here to kick off is The Crowning of Húrin Lord of Dor Lomin
There are really only two themes in this piece, the House of Hador played in a number of variations and at the end when matters of the heart are brought up we shift to the Heart of Hador which has the same timing but has a downward trajectory rather than to up and down again of the House of Hador theme.

Here is the second piece of music done for Ozmoot 2026 in Canberra. It continues the story of Hurin and Morwen, this time Hurin's failed proposal as outlined in S7 E4. Only 5 more to go. Season 7 is shaping up to be the most complete season to date.

I'm continuing to add to my S7 music with the story of Hurin and Morwen which was presented at Ozmoot 2026 in Canberra. The the third one is the aftermath of Hurin's failed proposal to Morwen called Brothers and shows the great relationship between Hurin and Huor. This is a description of the music so you can hear the themes play.

The scene begins with the House of Hador theme played in a slightly humorous tone after Húrin was left feeling ridiculous after his proposal to Morwen. With Huor’s appearance, a harp plays the Valinor ostinato that Huor picked up in Gondolin. He now carries the wisdom of the elves around with him and he portrays the heart of Hador. There is an oboe and clarinet stinger as Húrin realises that it was his mother’s gossip that had informed Huor of Húrin’s situation. A flute run emphasises the beauty of Morwen. When the discussion turns to elvish ways, the Athrabeth theme for the elves plays, highlighting the differences between the races. Húrin’s stirring speech is backed by a lone horn stating the House of Hador theme. As Huor points out that Morwen is also stepping into a leadership role the Wise Woman theme plays as it did when Morwen refused Húrin’s request. The final chord is a sustained second adding a softness to the affection shown between the brothers.

Here is the next video for S7 continuing the story of Hurin and Mowen and presented at Ozmmot in January 2026 in Canberra Australia.

This is the fouth of a series of videos filling in the story of Húrin and Morwen covered in SilmFilm Season 7 presented at Ozmoot 2026. The musical score played while people acted out the parts. This series of short videos lead up to the Nirnaeth Arnoediad (The Battle of Unnumbered Tears). Húrin has been crowned Lord of Dor-Lomin and his mother Hareth has laid it upon him to find himself a bride. This music backs the conversation between Morwen, Emeldir and Hareth after Húrin’s failed attempted proposal to Morwen.

The scene begins with the House of Beor theme played on flutes as Morwen is from this house. It ends abruptly to indicate Morwen’s indignation at the intrusion of the two older women. This is a conversation between Wise Women, Emeldir, the current leader and Morwen who is being prepared to take over. The Wise Woman ostinato plays avoiding the “Light in the West” motif as they discuss the situation of Morwen’s decline of Húrin’s offer of marriage but no wisdom has yet been dispensed. As Emeldir talks about the men from the House of Beor riding under the banner of Dor-Lomin the House of Hador theme plays with flutes and lower strings. When Hareth describes her life in Brethil the House of Haleth theme begins with the ostinato continuing on plucked strings (guitar) and plays in a relaxed way on French Horn and softened by clarinet. Those were happier times. For the musical climax of the scene, the Wise Woman gives her wisdom and she talks about Morwen and Húrin both stepping into roles of responsibility and we hear a melding of the House of Hador and Wise Woman themes. House of Hador is led by the woodwind section and Wise Woman coming in on flutes and trumpets in a bold statement. The wisdom has been dispensed.
