Exploring the Lord of the Rings Episode 280 was about there being no wolf corpses the morning after the attack of the wolves. I propose that there never were any wolves. The "attack" was an illusion created by Gandalf. The hobbits were the only members of the fellowship who were not combat veterans. Gandalf created the illusion of a wolf attack in order to pepare and train the hobbits for what might come up in Moria. Later in Episde 288 the question was raised of why Gandalf didn't use words of guard and guiding to protect the fellowship from wolves. My proposal explains that. It's because there weren't any real wolves to protect from.
