May I highly recommend for discussion the new film "Darkest Hour" about Churchill just before Dunkirk.
Aside from being excellent in all its aspects as a film, it is very Tolkienian in its basic theme and message. Which will become obvious as the film proceeds.

I'd send reviews from Variety... and Roger Ebert but they have too many spoilers. Read them after you see it.
