A very belated overview based on Session 3-26 from July 27th, 2018

Firth of Drengist

Fjords. Be sure the ship-burning location is visible from afar. The firth should be a mirror of the Calacirya.


Lammoth

Wintery terrain (for Season 3). Coastal plains, mountains rising to the East. Iceland or Alaska would be a good idea.



Hithlum

Scottish Highlands. Rugged, upland.

Lake Mithrim

Large in size; not a small mountain tarn. Crater lake would be more accurate. Loch in Scottish Highlands. You can see the mountains on the other side.

Rivers

Sirion

Largest river in Beleriand (widest). Relatively placid, except for the Falls of Sirion. Not as big as the Mississippi River.

Gelion

Large; relatively placid. Broad/deep (not as broad as Sirion). Need a boat to cross.

Ascar

Smaller, more rapids, rough.

Narog

Swifter and deeper than Sirion or Gelion

Helcaraxë

Icy landscape. Aurora - silvery/purplish light (avoid green aurora).




Ered Luin

Carpathians. A serious mountain range; crossing them is a big deal. Not forbidding, nor as much an obstacle to travel as the Misty Mountains (Rockies/Alps). But not as gentle as the Appalachians.

Hill, not a mountain, that orcs can swarm over. This image is from Alaska.

Dolomites. Should look like a death trap.



Thangorodrim

Volcanoes. Three, close together. Don't forget to add a fortress! Tie them together with defences.

Fairly dense woodland, lots of streams and rivers


Neldoreth
Beech forest, open, large ancient-looking trees
