New to Exploring LotR. And, thank you for putting together such a wonderful resource. I've been going through LotR with my 17 year old daughter. First we watched the movies because she hadn't seen them and got really interested after watching ROP. Then she wanted to read the books. Anyway, we've just gotten up to session 93 in Exploring LotR. That was the session where Frodo crosses the ford. Prof Olsen asked what the significance of the horses were when the Black Riders were swept away in the flood. My daughter, Kimberly, wondered if Gandalf was foreshadowing the arrival of the Rohirrim at the Pelennor Fields. Thus bringing the doom of the Witch-King with them. Eowyn stood between the Nazgul and his prey. And said, "I will smite you if you touch him." The river at the ford was standing between the Nazgul and his prey. Perhaps it was Gandalf's way of saying the the Witch-King, "I will smite you if you touch him." I wonder if Corey thinks she may be onto something?
