Bereg is another leader among the Marachians (the tribes that later unify as the House of Hador). A blond Man in his late 40s or so, he advocates for the Marachians to leave Beleriand after initial hostilities with the Elves, which at least makes some sense since there are two enemies on two fronts in theory. Not necessarily a man of action, he should have a good head of common sense.

Mackenzie Crook has made a career out of characters who has good words of advice that turn out to be good ideas or is ignored by more assertive characters. His character of Ragetti has a lot of good advice that he pulls out of nowhere while Daniel Marks from Ironclad assists with the recruiting of warriors and Orell rightfully suspects Jon Snow of not really turning coat (or cloak) to the wildlings; instead he winds up playing third wheel to Jon and Ygritte, a thankless task.

Known from Girls and Punisher, as well as John Adams, where he played John Quincy Adams. He has a nervous energy, which I believe would be perfect in this role.

Bereg's main role this season will be to make an appearance at the Council, and speak in favor of leaving Beleriand. He will be effective in winning people over to his side, and they will leave with him.

Edward Norton is well known for playing two-faced characters (ie, two different characters at once), such as when he played the Hulk, or his character in The Usual Suspects, or the teen with multiple personalities in Primal Fear, or his own twin brother in Leaves of Grass, or whatever was going on in Fight Club), but he's also pretty decent at speeches. He's known for the courtroom speech in The People vs Larry Flynt, as well as the speeches given by neonazi/white supremacist Derek Vinyard in American History X. He has been blond in some of his roles, but he's not actually blond. My favorites of his work are as Walter Fane in The Painted Veil and as Will Graham in Red Dragon.

I think he would do a fine job as Bereg, and give both Sauron and Hador someone formidable to work against at the Council.

Argument before the Supreme Court from The People vs Larry Flynt (1996):
(when you have to argue in favor of raunchy satire in front of nine Supreme Court justices)

Dinner conversation from American History X (1998):
(any footage from this film needs a warning, but this particular scene is about arguing for white supremacy)
