I think that it is obvious that Goldblum is an experienced actor who can vary his performance according to the demands of the task at hand. I actually saw Thor: Ragnarok for the first time the other day (very entertaining, I loved Mark Ruffalo especially), and I think we can safely say that the way Goldblum portrays the Grandmaster is not how he performs in every role. I'm not concerned.

I found this article that suggested Daniel Craig as Glaurung, citing an intimidating presence and powerful voice. Not a fan of the guy’s choice for Turin though; way too old.

I could have him as Thorondor, Neeson would be my first choice for someone like Eru, but that’s a moot point.
