We need an actor who can play this angelic being before the fall to demonic Balrog. I'm not sure we have to cast a beautiful model type of person, but somehow a radiant charisma is a definite plus. It's good if he is believeable as a fanatic.
He also needs a voice that is deep and powerful enough to fit a Balrog (well, the captain of the Balrogs), without too much added effects.
It's perhaps not necessary to choose someone who is a really good actor, since he is going to be covered in cgi most of the time.
