I have been against reusing Daniel Day-Lewis as Thorondor's voice and I'll explain why. Having Day-Lewis voice Thorondor could leave a lot of implications about the nature of Thorondor, ie that Manwe is present for the trials and tribulations of the Elves and not helping them for any number of reasons, that he's not powerful enough to face Morgoth or that he can help but is just kinda sulking and not putting out.

Liam Neeson was one of my first choices to play Manwe when I started making fan casts of The Silmarillion, and I definitely think he could portray one of the noblest Maiar.
