The Firebeards are not the most heroic of Dwarves, and are sometimes villainous as shown in the Ruin of Doriath, and Gleeson is no stranger to playing outright villains or anti-heroes while also being impressive and charismatic. As for the Firebeard part, he’s familiar with that too.

I enjoyed watching him play the role of King Ragnar in The Last Kingdom. I think he would be perfect playing the Lord of Nogrod, with a hint of the villainous, but commanding a great deal of respect. I see him as someone who could be ruthless, but not entirely without fairness or at least some likeable traits.
