Yes, having Beleg and Mablung accompany the contingent of the Haladin from Brethil to the Nirnaeth is certainly one option that we will consider.

Handir is the double first cousin of Húrin and Huor, and they all spent their boyhoods together before the trip to Gondolin. So, Handir will definitely play a role in Brethil's response to the Union of Maedhros. If he doesn't go himself, there will have to be a reason.

It could honestly go either way; it's mentioned in The Children of Húrin that only three come back to Brethil after the Nirnaeth. Handir could be one of these three or Haldir could be asked to hold the fort.
