A Place to Park my Thoughts

I think Anastasia was thinking to use that more for the Vanyar than the Noldor.
I could see that, but being such a time-consuming skill, I had automatically associated it with the Noldor. It does work, however, for the more "delicate" or ethereal look of the Vanyar.

For example, I could see Noldor wearing very ornate gowns and robes of embroidered silk at Turgon's wedding, while the Vanyar wear lace. The lace would still look fancy, but would be a dramatic visual contrast.

is that lace? lace definitely is mentioned by jrrt so we should use it. and floral or star designs would fit quite well or maybe gem&crystsl or wave patterns for the noldor and falmari.

The images I posted are of lace, or lace-making equipment. I think it can be done with silver or gold thread, as well (that being, to my understanding, thread -- usually silk -- that has been wrapped with gold or silver wire)

I've been thinking about the Vanyar and was thinking that even though they have fairly simple designs for their outfits they may use some embroidered fabrics like this.images.jpg images7FHKRCPF.jpg imagesTEUE0FGE.jpg untitled.png
Something very understated but still very pretty also they could use patterns that are linked to the Valar, stars wings water-ish patterns.
